The Great Barrier on Vimeo

I've been busy getting our hip-hop Fresh Short, Rising Dust, ready to shoot late February. We've cast, crewed up and found our locations but more on that to come...

This is just a quick note to say that The Great Barrier, the last short film I directed, is now available on Vimeo to watch. It's done a fine festival run, winning a surprise Best Film award at the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in 2011 as well as featuring in the Unofficial Google+ Film Festival, and now it's online for free in case you've missed it.

Thanks as always for the support.

Sweet Sixteen - old school cinematography

Here it is: our camera test that became half a short film is up on Vimeo for you to watch, but I highly recommend you download the source file to really see the details.

I haven't graded or corrected the footage except for a general de-saturation, so what you see is straight from Park Road Post's telecine. Go to the Vimeo page for the download link.

The whole thing was filmed over about four hours. We had a crew of two and focus pulled by eye. I wanted to test a few film stocks against various lighting conditions so we ended up with a mishmash of visual styles.
